Softlinking
"Soft" links, generated spontaneously in real time, allow any word or group of words in any text to be used to seek for related information, e.g. a pest, a country, a crop, a glossary definition, a reference.
To softlink from a word or phrase, highlight the text by clicking and dragging your mouse over the word or phrase, or by double-clicking on a single word. Next, press the softlink button on the right of the Menu bar (where available). A results box will appear displaying any items to which your selected term relates.
These may be datasheets or a glossary term. To go to that item, click on a selection. Note that the results may include words that contain your selected word: for example, selecting pest gives pest, pest assessment, pest density, etc. To softlink from a reference, select the citation in the text and softlink as before.
