Statistics
Production statistics are available from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAOStat and FishStat) and from the United States Department of Agriculture - Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS-PSD Commodity Data). Data are linked to an interface that enables the user to generate graphs. This example will consider FAOStat data; the functionality for retrieving and displaying FAS data is similar. You should consult the relevant statistics suppliers website for notes on the units and structure of the data.
Statistics are available from the main menu, and from country and relevant cultured species datasheets.

Select Statistics from the main menu, select the required dataset by clicking on the radio button; click Display the selected statistics. Select Production Values from the FishStat data.
The next screen allows you to select the country/s and/or species for which you require data (if you access Statistics via a country or cultured species datasheet, the data related to that datasheet will be displayed). Click the radio button to display data by items. Select American Cupped Oyster from the Select Item(s) dropdown list (see the on-screen help 'How do I select multiple items?' for guidance on selecting multiple items).

To remove regions from the country pick list, click Countries on the Country Filter options. Choose Select All from the Select Country(s) dropdown list. Keep the default option of the past 10 years in the Select Years dropdown list (note that you can select a range of years). Click Refresh Grid to retrieve the data, displayed in tabular form (note that you can choose how many records to retrieve per page). You may have to scroll down to see the data tables. Zero values indicate that data were not reported. Data are not available for all categories.
From the data selection interface, you can choose the Top 10 countries option, to display a bar graph of the top ten producing countries (if there are data for 10 countries - less will be presented if there are insufficient data); select different elements from the options on the graph. Close the graph and return to the data table.
Alternatively, choose the countries to plot by clicking the selection box and then Plot Selected.
For some datasets (when year column header is highlighted blue), the data can be sorted according to the values in particular years; click the appropriate year column header.
